Cheryl Cole has had her toughest year ever. She opens her heart on how she pulled through and why she's stronger than ever.
To say this year has been a tough year for pop star Cheryl Cole would be quite a understatement.
As well her split from husband Ashley Cole, 29, Cheryl, 27, was left just hours of death after contacting the potentially killer disease malaria.
She battled back to health and within weeks of leaving hospital she was back on our screens as a X factor judge. But then she was dealt another blow when she faced a huge public backlash after failing to put public favourite Gamu Nhengu in her final three contestants. Then, in October she opened her heart to the world in a moving TV interveiw with Peirs Morgan in which she broke down after her divorce and fight for life. All this, in just a year, would have broken most people. But Cheryl is a fighter who has come from humble beginnings to become a sucessful pop star, a judge on the most highest rating TV show and a Idol to millions. As the second youngest of a family of five children, Cheryl - Now worth an estimated £14 million - was raised on a council estate in Newcastle. So it comes as no suprise when she admits its hard for her family to understand their little sisters new life.
Here, Cheryl who is rumored to have dated Black Eyed Peas star Will.I.Am and dancer Derek Hough, opens up about life, and what made her an amazing woman that she is today.
How would you sum up your 2010?
Its been a whirlwind and totally unexpected. The whole nation has taken me and embraced me - I've just been myself and for the country to be accepting just shows what a wonderful nation we are. My life has changed, but the basics are still the same. Yes I go to glamourous partys now, but I went to them before - it was just that no one knew me.
What would you have said to someone who told you one year ago that your life wouldn't be this diffrent?
I would've laughed at them. I actually don't feel like I'm living it sometimes. I do forget because I do still like to do the same things, walk to work and go to the gym. I get mogged going to work, but you know when you see celebs in caps and you think, oh God what a... - But I can actually walk to work and I don't get bothered.
What's been your best night out this year?
The Pride of Britan awards. We all moan about things - I've got bags under my eyes off glasses of red wine - and you go to those sort of things and you meet those people who are blinded or trying to walk again. It was amazing to be invited and to be a part of that.
Will you have a debauched party on Christmas Eve?
No, there's nothing debauched about me, darling. I just let everyone else get debauched, it makes me look better!
Who would you like to meet under the mistletoe?
Other than my husband, the French rugby team. Have you seen the calendar? Put me in that scrum!
Which celebrity would you like to stuff into Santa's sack?
Gillian McKeith. Tie her in it and get rid of it.
What's on your Christmas wish-list?
I don't want anything. I've got somewhere to live, and a amazing husband. I'm not a materialistic person, I'm very council in that way - Very cheap.
What are your best's and worst's Christmas Eves?
My best is anytime I have spent It with my family. My worst was in 2000 when I had Bell's palsy. I was paralysed on one side of my face and looked like Quasimodo - And when your a gay man marking the new millennium, that isn't good.
What's your New Year's resolution?
To be taller!
Katie Price jotted off to Los Angeles
leaving behind her husband Alex Reid
as speculation continued to circulate that the couple's marriage was in trouble. As Katie touched down at LAX in a black fur hat and fur trimmed leather jacket, Alex spent the on the town at London partying with a mystery woman. However although the two were spotted leaving the party together in a taxi, Katie needn't have worried as the pretty brunette was reported to be Rosanna Eden-Ellis,22, from Surrey, who works for London based management company Back Door who now looks after Alex. Despite recent rumors that their
ten month marriage is in trouble, Katie and Alex have both strenuously maintained that their relationship is still as strong as ever. However, this
latest separation have led some observers to speculate that all is far from well in the couple's marriage. Last month Katie 'Forgot' to wear her wedding ring to book signings, while self con-fessed 'Mummy's boy' Alex is reported to be staying at his parents place 45 miles from the Surrey home he shares
with Katie, at least twice a week. If the sight of Alex pictured at the event partying with another woman causes Katie any concern, he should certainly know how she feels - in September, she went out clubbing with her old flame Dane Bowers and chums Gary Cockerill, Phill Turner.
We're trying so lets hope...
Me and Alex so want kids. Time goes by so quickly.
Alex can't offer me anything in the way of money or
material possessions...
But I don't care about that. I can take care of myself.
He makes me feel secure and protected.
He's like my knight and shining armour...
Alex accepts me for who I am. Its good, Its still really
good. Its still fresh. I got married quite quick but then I
got married quick the first time. You know when it feels
right.
Alex likes me with no make-up on...
But then most men who I have been with like me natural.
He's defently calmed me down...
Because of his fighting, he's so foucused on what he does.
Normally I retaliate if someone says something. He's like:
'Kate don't give it to them.'
I really do feel like Alex is the love of my life...
I know people will be cynical and say 'Oh yeah, we've heared
that one before.' And yes you have heard that before because I
was in love before. But who says you can't fall in love again?
